ITEA Technology Center offers programs that use technology to enhance education, human services, workforce training, civic engagement and community development. The programs are designed to close achievement gaps and increase residents’ capacity to learn, develop their skills, recognize their talents, all while promoting self-sufficiency and increasing participation in community and civic affairs.
The result is a more educated Society, more able workforce, a safer and better connected community. The center provides the public access to computers and the internet. We will also help develop consumer knowledge and provide easy access of information technology products and services.
Mrs. Hunt is a respected leader and visionary in the field of community and religious affairs. A frequent speaker and presenter at regional and international faith based, innovation, and socio-economic conferences. She was recently recognized by the “Ministry of Social Cohesion, Youth, Sports and Community Engagement” for her over 30 years of philanthropic service in the commonwealth of St-Martin. Her undertaking has a profound impact on the community and continues to inspire so many to strive for a more Socially Responsible Community.
Helene’s true passion is seeing a need and figuring out what she can do to help solve it. Having seen the need to develop a culture of socially responsible practices by addressing the growing trend of socially responsible corporate principles in the one area in which it is not yet fully addressed: information technology, Mrs. Hunt identified 4 main areas of focus and pulled together a team of experts (Domestic and International) to assist with the strategic execution of this plan.
The ITEA Foundation was created.
ITEA partnered with St-Martin Action Group to develop a School Partnership Program in order to establish ongoing, in-depth relationships with partnering schools in the region. Through S.P.P, the students’ knowledge and love of technology and innovation comes to life, develops student’s perceptive, creative skills, and helps parents and teachers bring 20th century learning into their homes and classrooms.
This program sparks a desire to learn with a hands on approach, through the uses of technology. Cultivating a new generation of thinkers and enriching the community through the exploration of their own creativity.
ITEA’s goal is to ensure that every child and teen has access to a safe place to spend their day when there is no school on holidays and during the summer. We are blending technology with the activities of traditional summer camp.
ITEA is taking ACTION in the lives of our children to redefine opportunities for youth by acknowledging the critical out-of-school time and how it plays a role in their development.
We are providing a place where our youth can build the knowledge, skills and behaviors to put them on the path to success.
Our Recycling Center and Retail Store will make a significant impact on the rapidly growing electronic waste industry. Our program will raise awareness while providing services to residential and business community.
Products will be assessed and repaired for reuse or properly disposed of. Computer and other electronics donated to the ITEA recycling center will help individuals take part in our career training program.
